More than twenty years doing architecture, contributing to the professional practice, Juan Guillermo studied architecture and urbanism at the Pontifical Xavierian University (1997 - 2002) in Bogotá, Colombia, later he specialized in Habitat, Technology and Development (2009 - 2010) at the Polytechnic of Turin, Turin, Italy. He is currently developing a Master's Degree in Project Management.
His works, his research, his project ideas are the product of a reflective position on the study and teaching of the history of architecture, particularly in the colombian and latin american context, and how the influence of institutions such as the Colombian Society of Architects have shaped the future of architecture and urbanism in the country, validating his participation as an active member in the union for several years, with experience in specific topics such as the care and conservation of architectural heritage and participatory planning.
The meeting of his professional work with civil engineering has been necessary, in administration of civil works and management of infrastructure projects and in recent years the integration of Earth Observations in the follow-up and monitoring of the Sustainable Development Goals - SDG - with a view to complying with the 2030 Agenda and all the management processes of Geographic Information Systems - GIS - for territorial planning, risk management, urban planning, cartography, topography with a comprehensive approach.
From it, he has ventured into different fields of the profession such as digital illustration, public service and teaching, where he has participated in directing different international architecture and urbanism competitions, always with a pedagogical approach in interdisciplinary and university groups.
